Kurtis Topping

Kurtis is a Senior Project Engineer, Building Science with JRS Engineering, with over 12 years of experience in the building science consulting and building construction industry. Kurtis has experience working with a wide variety of clients and project types across BC, including residential, commercial, institutional, municipal, and federal buildings.

Kurtis’ primary focus is providing building science consulting services on existing building projects, including a specialty focus on roof consulting. Kurtis’ interests lie in the preservation of heritage buildings and he has been involved in the evaluation and restoration of a number of notable heritage structures in BC. Kurtis also contributes his broad scope of knowledge to evaluation and assessment of building envelope systems, investigation of building envelope failures, and litigation support projects.

Kurtis obtained a Civil Engineering degree from the University of British Columbia, where he graduated with distinction. He is registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.
