Luke Moir is a Project Engineer and Toronto Lead at JRS Engineering (JRS). With over 10 years of diverse industry experience spanning Eastern and Western Canada, and a specialty focus in high-performance building enclosures for prefabricated and mass-timber construction, Luke is a key member of the JRS project delivery team in Ontario.

Luke’s expertise is grounded in building science and further strengthened through his experience working in the land development and manufacturing sectors. This multidisciplinary experience has equipped Luke with a unique perspective that enables him to translate complex challenges into durable, environmentally responsible building envelope solutions that provide long-term value. At JRS, Luke applies his expertise across a range of project types, delivering specialized services for both new and existing developments.
Recognizing the significant and ongoing impact that shifting climate conditions have on our built environment, Luke collaborates closely with integrated project teams to develop strategies that provide increased resilience against environmental stressors. These strategies draw from his hands-on experience working with a myriad of building envelope systems and assemblies, developing and implementing tailored moisture management techniques, optimizing thermal performance, and delivering constructible, sustainable design approaches. These efforts are further reinforced by his cross-geographic experience, which has equipped him with in-depth knowledge of regional material preferences and regulatory requirements.

Luke’s robust background in sustainable design extends to the Existing Buildings sector, where he has supported the successful delivery of various major renovation and repair projects. Additionally, Luke has helped numerous clients protect their assets through comprehensive building assessments that provide practical recommendations for future maintenance.

His accomplished portfolio spans a range of building types and sizes—including residential, commercial, institutional, municipal, and mixed-use developments—and highlights notable projects across Ontario such as Ossington Supportive Housing in Toronto, Townline Estates located on the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation Reserve No. 40A, and the Halton Region Housing Project in Oakville.
