Sea to Sky Gondola

Squamish, BC

The Sea to Sky Gondola is recreational facility transporting 1,200 visitors per hour to the summit and access to this new facility. Built with BC timber—to withstand heavy snowfall that loads the summit—and detailed to minimize the environmental footprint, this project consists of four base buildings and one summit building housing the gondola and restaurant building located in Squamish, BC. The building envelope systems consist of wood frame with metal sloped roofs and curtain wall glazing.

JRS provided full scope building envelope consulting for this exciting new construction. Our services included building envelope design development, construction documents review, building envelope letters of assurance, tender evaluation support, shop drawings review, review of submittals and RFIs relating to the building envelope, enhanced field reviews and reports, as well as window testing.
