Summit Heights Seniors Facility

Leduc, AB

JRS Engineering was retained to provide building envelope consulting services for the design and construction of the Summit Heights Seniors Facility. The facility is a 4-storey L-shaped building. The project is being developed with noncombustible construction and load bearing steel stud bearing walls and built under the Alberta Building Code, 2014e (ABC), and also under the National Energy Code for Buildings (NECB). The building envelope will be designed using the ‘Trade Off’ route.

JRS was further retained to undertake a review of the facility to propose NECB compliant wall assemblies. A detailed model of the proposed design was created to compare the performance to NECB (National Energy Code of Canada) requirements, and gain an understanding of how the building uses energy.
