Marty is a Senior Project Engineer, Branch Manager and shareholder at JRS Engineering. He is responsible for technical oversight on projects as well as operations and business development for the Calgary office. Marty also provides training and mentoring to junior technical staff. Understanding clients’ needs, Marty endeavors to provide timely and accurate building science and restoration consulting services, so the client has the information and expertise needed for them to excel in their roles and positions. Marty has successfully delivered a variety of structural restoration and building envelope consulting projects of all sizes and uses, from early concept and design phases through to delivery.
A broad experience base has equipped Marty to tackle roofing, building envelope, and structural evaluations for all types of buildings. Marty started his professional career in the mid 1990’s as a journeyman carpenter and small business contracting company owner. He has worked on both residential and commercial construction projects, in both new construction and restoration projects. Seeing the long term opportunity in engineering, Marty completed a degree in Civil Engineering from Lakehead University in 2010. Since then, Marty has provided engineering services in evaluation, restoration, design development and structural analysis for new and existing buildings in the greater Calgary area and throughout Alberta.
