The Camlin Hotel is an 11-story concrete framed historic building with multi-wythe brick walls and concrete block infill walls covered with parging. Renovation of this 80-year old building included new framed walls, windows, roofing. Restoration of the original façade involved patching damaged parging, cleaning brick, and cleaning and sealing terracotta turrets and parapets.
JRS reviewed architectural drawings and specifications, produced a number of building envelope-related details, and made recommendations for appropriate materials and assemblies. Field work included testing existing components and reviewing new components, reviewing installation window mock-ups, and conducting window tests.
