UBC Center for Brain Health

The Djavad Mowafaghian Center for Brain Health at the University of British Columbia (UBC) brings together, for the first time under one roof, all multidisciplinary areas of brain health. The building was built to LEED® Gold standards and features detailed artwork showing giant neurons on glass windows. An underground tunnel connects the basement of the new building to the ground floor of UBC Hospital’s Koerner Pavilion.

JRS’s services included full building envelope design review, shop drawing review, LEED® documentation support, and enhanced field services including mock-up reviews and glazing performance testing. JRS was also asked to help design the waterproofing system for the underground tunnel connecting the new building to the existing hospital.
